Tell me about yourself? How to handle this most commonly asked interview question?

Often times we flounder on some of the most commonly asked interview questions like - Tell us something about yourself? One should prepare for these well rather than answer them on the fly because: 1. It is usually the 1st questions and therefore an opportunity for the candidate to make a good "First Impression"! 2. It is also your opportunity to veer the interview towards your strengths because most likely the next question will be constructed from what you say in this opening question. So, use this opportunity well to talk about interesting things you have done.
